The world is an adventure waiting for you to experience. Maybe you are traveling alone because you didn’t have friends willing to join you, or perhaps because you enjoy moments of solitude that traveling in groups doesn’t offer.
Maybe it's that you have a personal bucket list of destination traveling ideas and you're having trouble finding a travel partner who also has the same passion as you for the places you desire to explore.
That's cool, I get it. Here's our list:
Australia
Australia is my number one destination for those who are traveling solo and looking for a wide variety of adventures. Many women in particular travel alone within the borders of Australia. From the sunny beaches and snorkeling to nights our in the city life environments, Australia has the most options for the solo traveler. There are a plethora of rooms, hostels, and apartment rental options as well, so you can save money and live quite comfortable settings while abroad.
Thailand
Thailand is my second best choice for solo travelers. Bankok, in particular, is an absolutely stunning place to travel alone, yet you will always feel together with the crowd as it is a top travel destination. I personally met many truly amazing people while on tours in Thailand. From beautiful temples to amazing walking trails and markets, there are many activities to enjoy to pair with the relatively inexpensive housing/stays options.
Ireland
Ok. Here's another one. Ireland is an extremely fun country to travel to, especially if you're going to Dublin. There's no language barrier, it's full of friendly people, and the lay of the land makes destination hopping a little more manageable than the next couple of choices. Be sure to stop by a couple of traditional pubs while you're there.
Japan
Japan is my fourth choice for a solo traveler in us all. Japan is full of truly rich experiences and the people are truly welcoming to visitors. You should not have any problems finding directions, eating, shopping, or touring in Japan. The cuisine is nice and tasty, mostly offered in traditional professional chef settings, which is generally full of healthy offerings.
Spain
Spain is my last option for traveling solo and lands on our list, but mainly because hotels usually offer extreme discounts to solo travelers. Spain moves into the top three if your sole reason for traveling abroad is learning. There are a lot of travel learning programs offered to Spain, so it's great for people who are looking to meet people on a learning mission as well.
Traveling alone doesn't have to be an intimidating task. It's an experience that will aid you in learning about yourself and gaining renewed confidence that will stay with you along with your experiences. Consider trying a short term stay in one of the locations we listed while remembering the first step is to build a detailed, well planned out travel plan/itinerary. With Google, one never has to worry about how to plan a trip. If you can't find a planning tool on google for where you're looking to visit, you may not want to travel alone to that location.
